It took a while to confirm the opponent, but when the dust settled it was another convincing win for the Hull High School football team. The Pirates ripped off their fifth straight win with a solid 35-8 win over host Old Colony Regional VoTech on Saturday in Rochester. Hull (5-1) was led by two scoring runs by senior tri-captain Jimmy Polito, who found the end zone from 12 yards and 60 yards out, while Luke Richardson connected on a 25-yard pass and a 19-yard ariel to Austin Bongo. Ben Oliveiri added a 55-yard run for a score as well. Hayden Anastos connected on all five extra point kicks. Hull finished the Fall-2 season on Thursday this week, hosting Rockland. The scheduled game at Cohasset had to be cancelled, thus prompting a visit from the Bulldogs. The game was played after our press time. I will have a game report next week.
Nor’easters set sail
The Nantasket Nor’easters, a collaborative sailing team consisting of students of high school age from Hull and Cohasset, are back on the water. The coed team, sponsored by Sail Nantasket, race in Club 420 class dinghies. Thanks to the generosity of Sail Nantasket’s supporters, six new boats were purchased this year.
Representing Hull High School are junior Sarah Rickard and freshmen Jamie Frady and Ruby Schultz. This spring the team will match its team racing skills against Norwell/NDA, Scituate, Duxbury, Hingham, Sharon, and Wellesley. The Nor’easters can be seen practicing and racing in Hull Bay at the Hull Yacht Club.
