Annual ceremony to honor  Hull firefighters on June 13

On Sunday, June 13, the Hull Fire Department will celebrate Firefighters Memorial Sunday at the Hull Village Cemetery, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Firefighters Memorial Sunday is held each year on the second Sunday in June to honor all the active and retired Hull Firefighters who have passed away during the last year, and has been a tradition for more than 100 years throughout the country. Memorial Sunday is sponsored by the Hull Firefighters Relief Association, organized in 1925; it provided a small benefit to the families of deceased members at a time of need.

Firefighters Memorial Sunday is also the annual department awards ceremony, in which members are recognized for actions above and beyond the call of duty during the year.

In the event of heavy rain, the service will be held indoors at the Central Fire Station.

The public is invited to attend.
