To the Editor:
Artists are wanted to paint the utility boxes that are along Nantasket Avenue on town land. The artists will supply their own paint and equipment and will receive a $200 stipend once the work is complete and will forward a photo of their work. The theme will most likely be seaside, beaches, etc.
The application at first blush looks really daunting, but it really is a pretty standard release agreement – one that is standard for municipalities that retain persons to do work for the town. Basically, you agree to conditions set forth as it pertains to the painting of publicly owned utility boxes. There is personal and insurance information that is requested.
Artists from other communities, professionals who specialize in this art form, as well as local artists, be they members of the Hull Artists or not, are encouraged to apply.
This effort is sponsored by the Economic Development Committee in partnership with the Hull Municipal Light Plant to help beautify the town.
