Volunteers needed to decorate bunny cupcakes
Nearly 600 people, including many Hull residents, are expected to partake of a March 28 “Spring Forward” dinner, to be available free of charge through pickup at or delivery by Daddy’s Beach Club from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
To reserve a ham with pineapple meal – complete with macaroni and cheese, green beans, carrots, and a decorated cupcake –from Daddy’s, located at 280 Nantasket Ave., contact Jim Richman at 617-688-0303 by March 19.
The meals will be prepared by Daddy’s and The Parrot. Additional bags of food will accompany the dinners, along with a gift bag from the Hull “Stretch your Food Budget” program.
The South Shore Community Action Council is making a major food donation for the event. The End Hunger Outreach Program, based in Pembroke, is donating the macaroni and cheese.
Volunteers are needed to decorate the cupcakes on the menu for March 28 at a gathering on Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Mermaid of Hull, 278 Nantasket Ave., next door to Daddy’s. The cupcakes, to be provided by the South Shore Community Action Council, will be frosted and decorated to look like Easter bunnies and packaged for the next day’s dining event.
“If it’s a nice day, we will decorate the cupcakes outside,” said “Spring Forward” organizer Craig Wolfe, who will be assisted by Kim Wolfe Greaves, Jim Richman, and other volunteers. “Otherwise, the decorating will take place in a big room with social distancing, face masks, and gloves.
“Volunteers are invited to bring some music and their sense of humor, and bunny costumes are encouraged!” he added.
