[The letter below was sent to Select Board Chair Jennifer Constable and Town Manager Philip Lemnios and is printed here at the author’s request.]
To the Editor:
I thought I would bring this to your attention, as I have walked by this pier for many years (30) and have watched it decay with each storm or full moon high tide. Pieces of it fall of frequently and become floating objects boaters cannot see.
I feel it’s time the town did something about it as it is becoming a hazard to not only any child/not so smart adult but boaters and swimmers as well.
This is located on the bay side, Cadish Avenue, at the end of U Street, not far from the rapidly derelict property that was once the Sunset Marina but that now is a fire hazard waiting to happen.
If this pier is town property, then you need to do something about this very soon. The last thing Hull needs is to be paying for another lawsuit. If this is privately owned, then Hull needs to make the person(s) responsible for it remove it or completely repair it.
Please do the right thing and have this taken care of as it should have been years ago.
Eagerly awaiting your reply.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Truly,
Denise Kaplan
