To the Editor:
The Illumination event this year was spectacular. The lights along the coast, purchased to benefit the Hull Lifesaving Museum, reflected an outpouring of generosity and community.
Another incredible gathering to celebrate this event was held at the Nantasket Beach Salt Water Club. And talk about generous! A 50/50 raffle was held, and this year members and guests were generous beyond expectations. The club committee was able to raise a nearly $2,000 donation for Father Bill’s Main Spring. And the winner of the raffle donated a large sum of their proceeds back to the cause.
Thank you, Nantasket Beach Salt Water Club, and especially to all who helped run the raffle.
Since the pandemic, the club has opened its facilities/kitchen to members who prepare more than 60 quality meals and deliver them to Father Bill’s Quincy or Brockton shelters, depending on need, usually twice a month. This is just one of many community-oriented charities the club organizes and contributes to.
I am very grateful and proud to be a member of the Nantasket Beach Salt Water Club. Another gem in this hamlet we call Hull.
