To the Editor:
Due to concerns about town meeting participation and in an effort to minimize the duration of the May annual town meeting, I respectfully suggest:
Let’s take advantage of the phone-in and online Go-To-Meeting process currently being used for the Advisory Board and Planning Board and Zoning Bylaw committee public hearings on warrant articles and encourage full participation. Go to Town of Hull website calendar for schedules and agendas.
Also, just prior to town meeting, and once the warrant articles are finalized and hearings and recommendations are completed, please schedule an online Go-To-Meeting review and a recap of the entire town meeting warrant with a fully open question-and-answer period and voter participation.
I recognize the hard work that these volunteer committee members do in preparation for town meeting. Unfortunately, in prior years, there wasn’t an opportunity for open public meetings online. This year, the online Go-To-Meeting format can be used to answer questions, resolve issues, reduce confusion, and, hopefully, streamline the actual town meeting itself in advance.
