The recently restored Roman Chariot was installed back on the platform of the vintage Paragon Carousel this week just in time to carry riders in style this summer. The 92-year-old amusement is now open to the public but with strict safety protocols in place. Both the merry-go-round and Carousel Creamery are open every day from noon until 9 p.m. The Paragon Park Museum is set to open soon and volunteers are being sought to cover shifts. Please email info@paragoncarousel for more information. In top photo a volunteer crew from Daley and Wanzer is pictured after they installed the large chariot. In the photo below, 40 years ago, carousel artist Brian Buckler and a little helper spruce up a prancer. Today the carousel is maintained by restoration artist James Hardison, who has been keeping the ride spinning and in a state of constant restoration for more than 25 years. [Top photo by Skip Tull]
