Hull Artists, a regional arts association of more than 85 fine artists and craft artisans, will hold its 25th Open Studios, Aug. 7-8, and Sept. 18-19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. HA’s signature event features local artists at select community locations and private home studios where visitors can experience their work up close and enjoy meeting the artists. This year’s official sponsors are the O’Brien family and Jake’s Seafood.
Downloadable listings of exhibiting artists and maps of their locations are available on the website hullartists.com. Printed material will also be available at several businesses around town, including Hull Artists’ Gallery Nantasket (121 Nantasket Ave., on the ground floor of the Ocean Place Condominium retail shops). The retail gallery exhibits a full range of fine art works, including painting media (oil, acrylic, watercolor), pastels, pencil drawings, photography, as well as artisan-crafted jewelry, fiber and fabric arts, clothing, pottery, cards, and more. Gallery staff can help visitors organize their own tour of the Open Studios locations throughout the community.
“We were disappointed last year not to be able to host Open Studios, but it was not possible due to the pandemic,” HA President Bart Blumberg said. “This year we are returning strong with 31 artists eager to share their art at their homes and studios. As one of the largest South Shore Open Studios, HA’s signature event draws more than 1,000 visitors each year who delight in exploring Hull’s wonderful and varied neighborhoods, unparalleled ocean vistas, and the local retail and restaurant community.”
Open Studios, with free admission, welcomes children and families and has plenty of free parking. CDC guidelines will be followed at all locations to keep visitors safe.
