The Hull-Cohasset hockey team was already a heavy favorite entering its contest vs. Cardinal Spellman on Wednesday night in Randolph. And when Spellman’s staring goalie was unable to play due to a concussion, the Cardinals had to put in a backup who had never before been between the pipes. It all added up to lopsided 11-2 win for Hull-Cohasset, which evened its record at 7-7-1 and took another step closer to a state tournament berth. Luke Dunham led the way with four goals (two unassisted) and an assist. Matt Mahoney added two goals, Hayden Manfredi had a goal and two assists, and Luke Mullen and Rob Casagrande also had a goal and an assist each. The two teams meet again on Saturday at Connell Rink in Weymouth for senior night. Hull’s lone senior is co-captain Hayden Manfredi. Hull-Cohasset blanked host Rockland last Wednesday 4-0. Finn Carragher scored and Luke Richardson and Luke Dunham added assists from the Hull contingent.
