Richardson Insurance is the 2021 Hull Youth Baseball Little League world series champion, putting out Hull Fire in a two-game sweep to take the title.
The champions were led by Aydan Dunham, Logan Griffin, and Christian Truglia. The runnerups had strong series performances by Max MacEachern, Will Kennerson, Tegan Bellew, and Aiden Gibbons.
The series capped a very successful season, according to league president David Gibbons, who also wanted to thank snack shack volunteers Jill Rivieccio and Tina Gibbons.
There is more baseball to come as Hull will be fielding an under 10 and under 12 travel team this summer.
Babe Ruth Baseball
The Hull-Hingham 15-year-old team has qualified for the quarterfinals of the state tournament. The team belted Brockton 20-4 on Monday, then blanked Weymouth 7-0 on Wednesday.
They have two more games in Pool Play, taking on Braintree on Friday and Brockton again on Saturday. Hull’s Erick Rickard in the team’s head coach, assisted by Hull’s Eric Hipp. Hull players are Bran James and Connor Hipp.
Going for the Gold
Several Hull High School boys’ and girls’ soccer players will be playing for the Southeast team at the annual Bay State Games tournament in Waltham this weekend. Round-robin play begins on Friday with the medal round games on Sunday.
The players are: Elly Thomas, Sarah Duran, Fallon Ryan, Nina Tiani, Mattie Tuchmann, Bridget Fleming, Veronica Fleming, and Jack Burke. Yours truly will be coaching the girls team.
