Do you miss browsing the shelves of the Hull Public Library? Tired of trying to come up with titles to place on hold? The library is launching a new book service for adults and children called Library Book Grab Bag.
Go to hullpubliclibrary.org/grab, and select whether you are looking for suggestions for adults or children. Using the simple online form, tell us your name, email address, library card barcode number, and a few details about the books you would like to read. The library staff will pick out a selection of titles, check them out to you, and then arrange a time for you to pick them up from our front porch.
Looking for some new literary fiction? Kristin Hannah or Lee Child read-alikes? Cookbooks with recipes for French macarons? Or maybe you need some ideas for chapter books for the second-grader in your life or a collection of picture books to read to your child or grandchild. We are here to help.
You can always place holds on titles in our library as well as in all the libraries in the Old Colony Library Network. If you need help doing this, or you cannot remember your PIN, give us a call and we can walk you through the process.
The Hull Public Library also subscribes to Hoopla, an online media service that allows you to borrow from a large selection of ebooks, audiobooks, movies and television shows – all available on demand. This service is funded by the Friends of the Hull Public Library, which also recently funded a subscription to Kanopy, an online streaming movie service. Kanopy should be available to library patrons by the end of the month.
