To the Editor:
What a day. What a turnout. What an amazing show of support for the Danielle Struzziery 5K Run/Walk this year.
After taking a year off from this event, we couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to jump back into it. The weather was perfect, the participation was among our highest, but this wasn’t the best part. The best part was seeing those of you who have come out year after year to support Danielle’s legacy and carry on her memory and having the chance to introduce Danielle’s story to some new faces. We know there were many of you who couldn’t make the race this year, but we felt your love from afar and look forward to being able to share the day with you next year.
As most of you know, we did not accept sponsorships this year, but we do want to thank our local businesses for their continued support year after year. With summer in the rear-view, many of the businesses in Hull and along the South Shore begin to see their slower season, so please be sure to shop local this winter and help us to support the folks who never hesitate to contribute to Danielle’s scholarship fund. We will have a list on our website this week of all the businesses that have supported us over the years.
We also want to give a special shout-out to the crew at LOCAL02045. For years, they’ve donated their beautiful space and delicious food to ensure our after-party is a success. They also named a sandwich after our race (appropriately named the Struzz 5K!), so be sure to get in there before they close for the season to try one.
We truly appreciate everyone’s support, generosity, and love. We are so lucky to have you all to carry on Danielle’s memory with us in such a special way.
See you all in 2022.
With love and gratitude,
