To the Editor:
The opiate pandemic! Thousands dying! Millions dying from within!
What if people knew of a drug that would eliminate any withdrawals within five minutes of letting it dissolve under your tongue? Well, I can personally attest to that experience and the name of that drug is Zubsolv.
For the past two months, I have been taking Zubsolv twice a day. Today, I was told by the CVS pharmacist that it would cost over $300 for my prescription. The cost would have been over $800 if not for my WellCare insurance.
Beating this illness is not easy, and every bit of help is necessary. The battle to survive is a struggle. The lives of so many people are involved. The cost to survive should be minimized when possible. The children, friends, husbands, wives, parents and grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins, brothers and sisters, girlfriends and boyfriends, and others should have a shot at assisting someone regain the joy and happiness of life.
During the State of the Union address, a 12-year-old boy was recognized for being actively involved in making a diabetes drug affordable to him, his dad, and many others. The drug cost $10 to make, but it was costing people 30 times that amount, but they were successful in finding a solution. Why can’t this be done for the opiate pandemic victims?
For almost six years, I have been suffering from lower back pain. Gradually, I have had to increase the potency of the medication to relieve the pain. On one occasion, I ended up in the emergency room of a local hospital with severe withdrawals. The nurse behind the ER counter watched as I was twitching and flaring up with my arms and legs. At one point I looked at this nurse and said, “Do you know about the opiate pandemic in this country and the thousands that are dying from it?” The nurse nodded at me and within five minutes an assistant came and wheeled me upstairs. A doctor spoke to me and after giving me a pill to help with withdrawals, he decided to give me a shot. Thirty minutes later, I felt fine and left the hospital.
This miracle drug is called Zubsolv, and I have been totally free of opiates ever since I dissolved one tablet under my tongue.
