To the Editor:
When I first heard my nephew, Dr. John F. Gould III, was applying for the principalship of Hull High, it was of no surprise to me. This is his alma mater, which had given a young John the drive and diligence to go on to achieve multiple master’s – all in education. John also experienced studying in London, England and has actually been in the Parliament. It’s safe to say John has more experience than most!
John currently is a college professor; he has filled many coaching positions through his years and is an active referee. John recognizes the importance of being involved with young people’s academic and social performance and standing.
John has a blessed marriage. His wife is a physical therapist and they have two children. His daughter has a basketball scholarship and is in her second year of college. His son is turning into a formidable athlete and is in high school.
You can color me confused. Dr. John F. Gould III wasn’t even considered as an applicant.
Here we have someone who knows the inner workings of our school system, of our town. It’s difficult for me to image any individual being more perfect for this position than someone whose heart has all the best intentions.
Our family has been in Hull and built up the town over many, many decades. Recognize this opportunity.
Sincerely,
Lillian Holzman
