The Hull Public Library this week announced two upcoming summertime programs.
Four consecutive Wednesdays, July 8-29, with puppeteer Leigh Baltzer. The program will be held on the library side lawn, weather and circumstances permitting, at 10:30 a.m. Social distancing, 6 feet apart, and masks will be required. If the program cannot be held outside, provisions have been made for virtual programs. The library building remains closed to the public, including the restrooms.
The library plans to have virtual story time this summer with children’s librarian Anne Masland. Dates and time will be announced.
The library is also assisting the Hull Public Schools with their summer reading program and the Hull PTO with its book bingo. Many items on those reading lists are available at the library.
To briefly recap the library services while the building is closed:
Library users can place holds on library items that are available in the Hull library. They can also call 781-925-2295 or email hurcirc@ocln.org to request items. If the item(s) is in stock, library staff will check it out and contact the person requesting it. Those materials can be retrieved in a bag placed on the front porch. The hours of Front Porch Pickup have been extended from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The library is now accepting returns. They can be placed in one of the book drops at the library or at the A Street fire station. The library will hold all returned items 72 hours before checking them in.
There are also several online services available on the library website www.hullpubliclibrary.org and the Old Colony Library Network website www.ocln.org.
The Hull Public Library will be closed on Saturday, July 4. The hours of Front Porch Pickup will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, July 3.
