(Editor’s note: The following letter was sent to the Hull Board of Health.)
Thank you so much for taking the proactive step to conduct vaccination clinics in Hull via drive-through and appointments at the MJM Bathhouse in January/February of this year. I was able to obtain my first Moderna vaccination at that time.
As I continue to stay as well informed as possible about the COVID-19 virus, I recently read an Aug. 17 Boston Globe article about how municipal wastewater is routinely tested for indications of the virus in a community.
The article noted that “Cambridge-based Biobot Analytics, which conducts the tests, says it has found that the amount of virus in the wastewater is correlated with newly diagnosed coronavirus cases four to ten days later.”
Knowing your positive, proactive approach to keeping Hull citizens informed about how to stay healthy, I was curious if Hull is currently or has previously tested the wastewater? Please let me know where I would be able to find those reports.
Not knowing what the upcoming days, weeks, and months may bring to our community, I thank you in advance for helping to keep us informed. The information you share allows each member of our community to take full responsibility for their own health and the health of their neighbors.
Thank you all for your consistent efforts on our behalf.
