Hull Public Schools Superintendent Judith Kuehn and Police Chief John Dunn recognized School Resource Officer Leanne Marshalsea as part of National School Resource Officer (SRO) Appreciation Day on Feb. 15.
]Marshalsea has been in her role with the Hull Public Schools since 2018 and assists students, families, educators and administrators while making their safety her main priority.
“Officer Marshalsea has been able to establish amazing relationships with members of our community during her three and a half years in the district,” Kuehn said. “School Resource Officers ensure the safety and comfort of students and staff. We are grateful to have an SRO who cares so deeply about our students.”
During her time in the schools, Marshalsea has facilitated ALICE active shooter training for staff, bullying and sexual harassment education for students, bus evacuation drills and “stranger danger” training, and assists in school-wide lockdown drills. She supports the community at assemblies, school events, and during the holidays by teaching Halloween safety.
“Without Officer Marshalsea, we would not have the ability to perform our jobs as efficiently and effectively as we do,” Hull High Principal Nicole Nosek said. “She performs the important task of teaching students how to stay safe. School Resource Officers are truly the unsung heroes of school districts and we would like to recognize and thank Officer Marshalsea for all she does.”
