To the Editor:
I would like to express my deep, personal, and heartfelt gratitude to (still anonymous, despite my outreach efforts) “Kelly,” who gave a substantial, gracious, and beautiful gift (i.e., two flowering trees – weeping cherry and crab apple, along with two amazing Mandevilla plants) to me personally (beyond honored for me and reason for this letter) and our beloved Hull Garden Club.
I have been tangentially, as a member of the club, taking care of Joshua James Park at the triangular corner of Nantasket Avenue and Y Street (at the base of Allerton Hill) and under the wise historic tutelage of Anne Musmeci and the Adopt-A-Park Program.
The problem is: Who is Kelly? I am wracking my brain, checking my contacts and social media, and trying to think of the multitudes of cool people whom I meet on my dog walks with “Schultzie.” I am thinking it may be a wonderful passerby whom I chatted with briefly from R Street when I was working in the park.
Will Kelly, or one of her relations, provide me with the great reveal? I would appreciate your collective help so that I may express my personal gratitude to her/him, to be followed up with a letter of appreciation on the garden club website and the HGC Facebook Page.
Yet more examples of how grateful I am to be a part of that club along with this welcoming, unique, and generous community.
Thank you again to Kelly and to all in Hull for all that you do to make magnificent Hull and the world a better place.
