Open Community meeting set for June 15
The She’s Local South Shore Conference for Women is accepting applications for speakers for its third annual conference, to be held on Thursday, Oct. 28. Topics will be determined based on community feedback provided at one of three virtual Open Community meetings taking place throughout the spring and summer.
“We are delighted to be offering an in-person and virtual event this year to the South Shore community. In keeping with our mission, we want to highlight the topics desired by local women,” said Jen Maseda, founder and CEO of She’s Local and the South Shore Conference for Women. “Our speakers are leaders in our community and experts in their field, who have valuable advice to share, and we want to give them a voice.”
To learn what topics may be popular among the women of the South Shore, attend the upcoming virtual open meeting on Tuesday, June 15, from noon to 1:30 p.m. For access links to meetings, sign up to receive the South Shore Conference for Women newsletters at https://sheslocal.org/south-shore-conference-for-women.
Speaker proposal submissions will be accepted until June 30. Once applications close, the conference board will create expert panels, with three speakers on each panel to address a topic that was highly requested during our monthly Open Community meetings on the South Shore. If selected, you and your expert panel mates will work together to develop the content and the format of your breakout session.
Breakout sessions run for 45 minutes each and run twice with a 15-minute break in between sessions. More details and the application are available at https://sheslocal.org/south-shore-conference-for-women/speaker-applications-now-open/
She’s Local creates conferences for women with a shared objective to support, connect, and inspire one another, close to home, and sets the stage for local women to connect. They may be the women you see at the grocery store, the gym, or the neighborhood coffee shop, who compel us, motivate us, and lift us up. They are the women we meet every day, who have unique stories to share and eloquent words of wisdom for others facing similar challenges.
Our mission is to provide accessible platforms for all women in local communities, offering world-class conferences and highlighting local women and resources, close to home.
