South Shore Recycling Cooperative (SSRC) towns will host five household hazardous waste collections this spring, beginning April 10. Registration is required so as to reduce wait times. The addresses of the events are revealed on the registration form here https://ssrcoop.wufoo.com/forms/qfzb24q0os3n19/ All events will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as follows:
April 10 – Weymouth
April 17 – Plymouth
May 1 – Hanover and Pembroke *
May 15 – Hingham
June 19 – Scituate and Cohasset
* Usable latex paint will be accepted separately at the Hanover/Pembroke collection only; it should be sorted from any hazardous material. It will be recycled into recolor paint. Latex paint can also be dried and disposed with regular trash; it will not be accepted at any other event.
Residents of host and co-host towns, as well as several other SSRC towns, can attend their own town’s collection at no charge, with proof of residency (transfer station/recycling center sticker, driver’s license, vehicle registration, or tax/utility bill). All must register.
Residents of some SSRC member towns must register and obtain a visitor authorization form from their town’s Department of Public Works or bring a check made out to ACV Enviro to attend an out-of-town event.
Member towns are: Abington, Braintree, Cohasset, Duxbury, Hanover, Hanson, Hingham, Hull, Kingston, Middleborough, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, Rockland, Scituate, Weymouth, and Whitman. Residents of non-SSRC towns cannot be accommodated.
Commercial generators in SSRC member towns: Register and call 508-479-3358 (ACV Enviro) to ensure that your material can be accepted and to arrange payment.
