Even as the mercury remains below freezing and we’re still cleaning up the snow from the last storm, it’s time to start thinking about this beach community’s favorite season – summer! And what better way to than to start planning our biggest, most-anticipated publication?
You guessed it — The Hull Times Summer Guide is back!
As New Englanders, we are all too accustomed to the vagaries of winter weather – a few warm days suddenly appear, carrying with them the promise of spring – followed by winter’s frigid hammer bearing down on us again. Now that March has arrived, and the days grow longer, cabin fever has taken hold. We are ready for spring to burst forth, and it can’t come soon enough!
For the upcoming season, a spring awakening is especially most welcome, and needed, as we emerge from the restrictions of the COVID19 pandemic and look forward to the “new normal.”
We’re optimistic that 2022’s summer season will feature all of the events and activities we’ve missed. We hope local restaurants and small businesses will bustle once more with diners and customers from both near and far. We want to help local merchants welcome the return of seasonal visitors and meet the pent-up demand for seaside fun.
All of this activity and excitement in Hull is what drives the publication of our popular Summer Guide. Businesses use these pages to let people know that they are ready to serve the public. Community groups have one place to highlight their activities and events throughout the summer. Residents and visitors will find something new and be reminded of all of the things that make Hull the best place to spend the summer season.
As a small business, The Times has experienced the harsh realities of the last two years of restrictions. Like many of our colleagues in the business community, our bottom line has been significantly affected by the pandemic. We’re sensitive to that, and we have not increased our advertising rates, even in the face of rising printing, production, and distribution costs. We are always looking for cost-effective ways to provide our readers and advertisers with quality content and maximum exposure, which is why we’re excited to be providing an accessible platform like the Summer Guide.
This publication is our most anticipated issue of the year. The Guide is free, mailed to all Hull households in late May, and thousands of extra copies are printed and distributed all over town from June through the fall, for easy pick-up. Seasonal renters and those vacationing for a weekend in Hull need to know how to navigate the community, and they rely on the Summer Guide to show them the way!
The Guide is full of detailed information about upcoming events, special offers from the business community, great stories about Hull from our talented reporters, and of course, it’s all supported by our loyal advertisers. The Guide lands in the hands of thousands of residents and visitors alike looking for fun events, restaurants, family-friendly activities, local information, shopping options, and what to do when.
If you are a local business, restaurant, or service provider, you need to be a part of this annual tradition! If you are a community organization, your events need to be part of the calendar of events! We’ll be reaching out to potential advertisers in the coming weeks to share all the details. But of course, prime space is limited, so you can reserve your spot now by contacting our sales department today. We’ll be gathering information on calendar items and features as we get closer to publication.
Yes, cabin fever has set in for now, but soon we’ll be ready to celebrate summer in Hull.
With your copy of The Hull Times Summer Guide, so will you!
