To the Editor:
I would like to add that the Hull Redevelopment Authority has had many years to expand the tax dollars in town, Mr. Gould. Now, how about how the money they have received over the years that sits in their bank account doing nothing for the town? We could use these funds to fix the dilapidated roads in town or make upgrades to water and sewer and still have great open space left in Hull for summer parking, amusement rides, and an annual bonfire.
You say the town could expand the tax horizons, but it is never enough. First, this town needs to learn how to spend the tax dollars to offset costs that keep rising on our citizens in town. We still have a town manager who was supposed to be gone 20 years ago, and we pay him close to 200,000 grand a year; that’s almost $4 million this town has wasted on a manager when we already have a five-seat Board of Selectmen.
I believe that if this town focuses on more infrastructure, instead of building condos or apartment buildings, and fires the town manager, we will be so much better off.
